Upgrading to iCard

Why is this upgrade happening?

iCard is a better money platform with a series of new functionalities that will help you manage your money even better.

What is changing?

The LeoPay platform will be upgraded to the new, more advanced and intuitive iCard service. It includes an online platform and a mobile app with improved functionalities.

All of LeoPay’s functionalities will remain available in iCard. In addition, great new features for secure mobile and online payments, fast money transfers and advanced card management will be coming along.

You will need to download the new iCard app in order to upgrade and use the service. All your active accounts, IBANs, balance, and cards will appear on iCard.

What stays the same?

Your accounts, IBANs and balance remain active and unchanged. Your LeoPay cards will be active as well, and you will continue to use them until the expiration date printed on the cards. Your old account statements will be accessible from the side menu Accounts, section Statements in your new iCard account.

All financial services will continue to be provided by the leading EU e-money institution - iCard AD, licensed by BNB, providing cross-border e-money services in all EEA countries under EU passport rules, Principal Member of Mastercard, VISA, JCB, AMEX, UnionPay, Bancontact, Borica and other schemes.

How can I switch to iCard?

  • Download the iCard mobile app from Google Play or App Store.
  • Log into iCard, using the same credentials you use for your LeoPay account.
  • That's it! Once you are logged in, you will have access to your e-money accounts and cards.

How can I download iCard?

What will happen to my LeoPay debit card?

It will remain valid until the end of the expiration month on your card. When your LeoPay card expires, you will be issued a new iCard Visa debit card.

Will I incur any additional fees?

With iCard, your account will remain with no monthly fees. You get lower fees for funding with a debit/credit card and cheaper cash withdrawals. You can review all iCard usage fees here.

The iCard online platform and account are coming with their own Legal agreements and Tariff. Once you upgrade from LeoPay to iCard, you will have to agree with the iCard’s Legal Agreements and Tariff. You can review the iCard Legal Agreements here.

Can I use LeoPay after the upgrade?

No, once you upgrade, you will only be able to login to your accounts via iCard.com or the iCard app.

Do I need to verify my identity again?

In most cases - NO. If you are a LeoPay client, who got verified before December 2017, or if your documents have expired, you will be prompted to pass our video identification process.

If for some reason your identity cannot be verified in iCard, your accounts, balances and cards will not be upgraded. You will be given 2 months to sort the issue. If nothing happens in this period, measures will be taken to close your LeoPay accounts and apply the relevant cancellation fees.

Will my LeoPay Business account be upgraded?

No, you should continue using LeoPay to manage your business finances.

Can I remain with LeoPay?

Yes, but only temporarily. You will need to upgrade by May 23rd, 2020 or cancel your account with LeoPay.

What will happen if I do nothing? Can I not accept the upgrade?

You will need to upgrade by May 23rd, 2020. If you do nothing, but you are fully verified LeoPay user, you will be automatically upgraded to iCard. In case of no action on your side and your identity has not been verified as per iCard rules, we will take the necessary measures to close your LeoPay accounts according to the procedures outlined in our terms and conditions.

If you don't want to accept the changes, you have the right to cancel your LeoPay service and terminate your current Legal agreement. You need to email support@icard.com from your LeoPay-registered email and request account closure. If you have funds, you need to request your funds transferred to another bank account.

Keep in mind that if you do not email us by May 23rd, 2020, the following will happen:

  • LeoPay online access will be suspended on that date and your account will be terminated.
  • If you have any funds remaining in your terminated account, a monthly non-cooperation fee of 20.00 EUR will be charged, until the balance is exhausted or until you send an email request for your funds reimbursement, according to your LeoPay agreement. No fee will be applied if you have zero balance at account termination.

Keep informed that if you switch to iCard and login to the app, no fee will be charged.

What will happen if I have pending incoming or outgoing bank transfers?

Any pending incoming and outgoing money transfers in LeoPay will be executed in time and without delays.

What will happen to my recurring payments going out of my account?

All your recurring money transfers will continue to be executed as usual.

Will I see my past transactions from LeoPay?

Yes. The history of all your past account transactions will be visible in the new iCard online platform.
