How to sign up?

Signing up for a LeoPay account is free, simple and can be done online. To start the sign-up process, press the "GET STARTED" button on the Home page, select your country, specify the type of account you would like to create (Business or personal), then proceed with the following steps:

  1. Enter all your details, then review and confirm the legal agreements by entering the SMS code received on the phone number entered in the registration form.
  2. Validate your email address by locating the LeoPay confirmation email in your inbox.
  3. Download our app from the Google Play or App Store and verify your identity directly within the LeoPay Mobile app through a short 5-minute video ID verification call with one of our friendly operators.
  4. Order your card and start using your account immediately after your verification is complete (In most cases, this takes anywhere between 15 min and 8 business hours following the video chat).


  • The phone number entered in the registration form will be used as your main contact number and cannot be used for other LeoPay registrations for the same type of account;
  • If there is no address specified on your ID used during the video ID verification chat, we might need you to provide some additional documents (Such as a utility bill or bank statement), so that we can validate your address. These documents can be uploaded directly from your Online account (Menu “Profile “-> “Documents “-> “Upload document “).
  • The ID verification process for personal clients normally takes between 30 min and 8 business hours following the video chat (If no additional verification is required). You will get a push notification on the App once your information is verified.

What is video ID verification?

The video ID verification is a one-time, 5-minute live video chat with one of our friendly operators initiated through the LeoPay Mobile app. During the video call our ID verification professionals will guide you through the steps and will take photos of your passport or national ID in order to verify your identity.

How do I complete the video ID verification call?

We have developed a safe, secure and comfortable method for digital ID verification in real time from anywhere in the world. To initiate your one-time video ID verification chat, please log into your LeoPay Mobile app from your mobile phone, using your verified email address, select “Continue”, choose a communication language for your verification session and the app would automatically connect you to one of our operators.

Why is video ID verification necessary?

LeoPay is a FinTech platform for e-money and payment services, provided by iCard AD which is an EU licensed E-money institution (EMI) regulated under the Payment Service Directive (EU) 2015/2366 of the European Parliament with license No. 4703-4331/23.06.2010. This is why we are legally required to verify your identity before we can open a LeoPay account for you. Our video ID verification procedure is a legally-compliant remote identification process, designed to comply with the latest banking regulations and laws, as well as the Anti Money Laundering Act (AML).

Can I use someone else’s smartphone for the video ID verification call?

Yes, you can use someone else’s phone to complete your video ID verification call. To do so, simply install the LeoPay mobile app on that device and log in using your verified email and your password. Then follow the steps and complete your ID verification. Just keep in mind to have your own mobile phone in hand during the verification call, as we would send a confirmation SMS code to your registered mobile number.


If you are not planning to use the LeoPay mobile app on that device, please remember to log out from your account (“Menu “-> “Log Out “) and delete the app.
